Indeed, we must live our passions! When I learned I had cancer, I imagined living in the dark and knowing every inch of my ceiling by day! Instead, we can use this time to live out our passions. We often say: ‘If I had more time, I would do this or that, it’s a passion’? ’ Indeed, I was like that before I got sick. I wanted to write a book on a subject that has always fascinated me: Elvis Presley concerts. When I was diagnosed, I had an opportunity. I refused to be drawn into a vortex of despair that is hard to get out of. I approached a publisher about my project. I was sure that he would be interested. I was not mistaken!
Sometimes I have to stop writing for a few days because of pain and fatigue. However, I am still motivated. For the record: So, one day when I was taking my chemotherapy, I got a call from a record company to pick the songs to be included on a big box set dedicated to Elvis Presley. I was so excited that I did the tracklisting for a 5 vinyl box set in 2 hours. I was rewarded because the box set for which I had chosen the tracks was sold a few months later on the Internet and in all the big stores. Since 2012, I have already developed 4 products. These products are varied: 2 boxes of 5 CDs, a vinyl record with a cloth bag representing Elvis in limited edition and the present product that I invite you to look at if you are interested: Here the link AMAZON! To come back to my book, I don’t want to fall into a straitjacket that I would have made myself. Especially since this period of “forced pause” requires that we take it easy as possible. I want to work at my own pace on this book. I hope it will be a very complete book that will give information to those who share my passion for Elvis. While I don’t want to compare myself to geniuses who have made masterpieces while being very ill with cancer (or other illnesses), I know that it is possible. When Marcel Proust wrote the last volume of “A la recherche du temps perdu”, he was bedridden. Beethoven composed the 9th symphony when he was old and totally deaf. To conclude: In the first place, a passion can help us in the healing process. Similarly, passions can arise when we are at a turning point in our lives; are you in the same situation as me? Do you have passions that drive you?If you are interested in the subject of occupations/moral, you can also read this forum topic here!
